Adduction Exercises for Sports Athletes
In sports such as soccer, athletes need strong adductor (groin) muscles to kick the ball, make sharp lateral cuts, and resist momentum when contacted in a challenge. The reason for rolling out certain muscles is to improve joint range of motion, increase blood flow to surrounding tissues, enhance joint flexibility, and relieve trigger points along aggravated or tight muscles. Foam rolling provides many benefits to those with and without injuries and could be a part of your rehabilitation program at Physiostation … [Read more...]
Concussion
A concussion is a brain injury that results from a brain collision with the skull due to excessive acceleration or deceleration of the head. Concussions can be caused by a direct impact to the head or by a hit to the body. The whiplash associated with the impact is often what causes a concussion. Strengthening the neck muscles can help to control the whiplash of the head and neck after an impact. Stronger and faster adapting neck muscles can counteract the forces of an impact more effectively and reduce the risk of a brain to skull collision. Concussion Risk Reduction Program Physiostation & Sports Injury Clinic has created a simple concussion risk reduction program consisting of … [Read more...]
